Scapa Flow Boat Spaces

I thought i would put this in as a seperate page, simply so i dont ram it down your throats every time you, for some strange reason, decide to read my blog.  I could be really arrogant and say we are the best boat up here, but then nothing is ever better or worse, only different.  We hope we are different in a better way.

Just so you know, the Valkyrie is a 22m (72ft) liveaboard based in Stromness, Orkney.

Why dive Scapa Flow?

We can dive anywhere around Orkney, which obviously includes the German Fleet which was scuttled in 1919.  Many of the boats which went to the bottom were subsequently raised, but three light cruisers, one mine-laying cruiser, three dreadnaught class battlecruisers and four torpedo boat destroyers still remain, all in less than 45m of water.  There is also the F2, which is a Corvette class equivalent, an E class WWII torpedo boat and a WWI submarine all also within the flow.  We can also venture outside the flow where there are a plethora of wrecks just waiting to be explored.

Why dive with us?

MV Valkyrie was converted for diving in 2004 to an exceptionally high standard.  She has 6 twin cabins, all with 7ft long bunks, a handbaisin with hot and cold running water, an individual heater and bunk lights.  Below decks there is also a power shower.  We have a seperate saloon and galley, both of which seat 12, a widescreen TV, playstation and laptop facilities.  An undercover changing room has loads of room for all your drysuits and bags.  The dive deck is spacious and a diver lift is now fitted for the 2007 season making diving as stress free as possible.  We have crew on board 24hrs a day and can provide all levels of catering, from a continental breakfast to full board all inclusive packages.

Oxygen is carried as standard, and helium can be taken on board by prior arrangement, as can rebreather sorb.  We have a freshwater sink on the dive deck to allow easy rebreather cleaning.

20082008? bloody hell we aint even done 2007 yet, but yes, we are filling up nicely for next year already.  Here is a guide to the weeks we have available.  If you are wanting to dive out of the flow we suggest you contact us as soon as possible as these weeks need to be taken in certain months to give us the best chance of a weather window.
