Diary of a deckbitch…

Back for a peedie while

Well im back in the land of trees, and everything is very strange.  Its not dark enough at night for a start, then its bloody noisy and suddenly i have to fight someone for the duvet (and two moggies too).  However, i have finally got my hands on all the crap i have been missing over the summer and have been shopping which was badly needed - pants, bra’s and new trousers are currently in the wash and will be ready to go tomorrow.

Anyhow, this is my ickle moggy who went utterly mental when she saw me.

Im in disguise...honest

This is the other one, who pretended not to have even noticed i was gone, but then snuggled up so close i nearly squashed her….

And here are some pictures from Scapa too….

Mellow skies

whoa, its not raining!

This is Scapa Bay, the wreck of the Royal Oak lies a short way out.

This is Skara Brae, an ancient village preserved under a sand dune until it was unearthed during a chuffing great storm (which orkney is good at).  All very civilised for being so old.

This is the Ring of Brodgar which is bigger than stonehenge.  It had 62 standing stones around the outiside but only a few remain now.

This is the Italian Chapel which was built by Italian Prisoners of war.  Everything is made of concrete and barbed wire or things they could scrounge.  It is truly amazing.  The actual building is made of two nissen huts put end to end.
